Our Story

Working as an accountant and outsourcing payroll, Diane Pelak was frustrated with the lack of service and attention to detail she received from national processors. She saw the need for a superior, quality-based processor. So, with just one employee and a handful of clients, she incorporated our company as Datasphere, Inc. in 1997.

As time went on, many of our clients referred us to their customers and vendors and we grew to process payrolls throughout Michigan for small to mid-sized companies. 

In 1999, we began administering flexible benefit plans to better serve our clients. Our flex service includes everything from creating plan documents, on-site employee education, and full administration for flexible spending accounts with 24-hour reimbursements and debit cards. We have found that flex plan administration and payroll are a perfect match!

In 2000, we officially changed our name to FlexChecks, Inc! We continue to serve our clients with as few as one employee up to companies with as many as 1000 employees. By 2005, we were serving both payroll and flex clients throughout the United States. 

In 2006, FlexChecks purchased the client base of CBS Payroll Solutions, in Okemos, Michigan and converted over 150 clients to the FlexChecks platform. 

Since that time, our focus has changed from payroll and flex administration to full Human Resource management Systems allowing us to provide the tools you need to manage your workforce from HIRE to RETIRE. Our full suite of services now includes:
